About Us

Application Development

We are an extremely unique organization in that we function both as the technological development company and also as the end user.  The duality of these roles gives us unique insight into the operation of a Destination Management Organization.

Niagara Central Reservations, Meridian's main operational unit, primary competition comes from Expedia, Hotels.com, and Travelocity.  We fully understand that the average consumer may visit up to seven web sites in searching for destination accommodation information.

The ultimate question is: "which web site will get credit for the transaction."

How can your web site take the transaction away from the likes of these international travel portals?  It can be accomplished through creative thinking and sound strategic planning.  We have outperformed the likes of Expedia by:

  • Creating unique value added mechanism which Expedia cannot match
  • Offering better visuals and text based information
  • Creating a large volume of localized packages and a superior packaging mechanism
  • Unifying the inventory of local attractions, golf courses, and services with the accommodation base
  • All products can be used on your client’s personal web sites thereby generating a revenue stream for Ontario Wilderness Region.

Unique test Environment & Developmental Capabilities via Niagara Central Reservations

Meridian, by virtue of its ownership of www.infoniagara.comand www.niagaracentralreservations.com, effectively operates a destination management organization and draws valuable real world experience.

Our organization is extremely familiar with all the issues involved with the operation of a DMO and a fully integrated reservation system.

More importantly, the Niagara Central Reservations component of the company operates as a real world test environment whereby all new products go through the following life cycle:

Example:  Our Newest Product – Dynamic Golf Play & Stay

  1. Product is conceived, built, and tested in our own internal office environment.
  2. Product is then moved into a trial phase at a test hotel for further evaluation.
  3. Upon a satisfactory beta test at a hotel, the product is moved across the entire Niagara Central Reservation System for further evaluation.
  4. Upon a satisfactory deployment, the product is now ready to be deployed into other jurisdictions powered by Meridian.
